The city of Dnipro, which had a population of about 1 million before the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation, was dynamically developing as an industrial, logistical, and business leader in southeastern Ukraine, offering a comfortable environment for living and running a business.
Life in the city changed completely with the beginning of the war: Dnipro became a humanitarian, medical, transport, and evacuation hub for the entire eastern Ukraine. Today, the city of Dnipro, located at an equal distance from the front line in the north, east, and south, continues to maintain its resilience and provide vital support to its residents and more than 200,000 internally displaced persons who have come to the city from war-affected regions of Ukraine.
Unfortunately, the war is also destroying our city and families and taking lives. As a result of the hostilities, hundreds of civilians in Dnipro and thousands of military personnel have been killed or wounded. Due to missile attacks, schoolchildren and students are being taught in bomb shelters for safety reasons, and residential buildings, medical facilities, educational institutions, and city infrastructure, including transportation infrastructure and public transport rolling stock, have been damaged or destroyed.
In order to transport schoolchildren to safe educational institutions on a daily basis and organize social transportation for city residents, it is necessary to restore the rolling stock of our municipal transportation companies—passenger carriers, which has been destroyed or damaged by war, or worn out. The city of Dnipro is looking for international partners who could provide humanitarian aid or international technical assistance to support the city’s passenger transportation system, in particular through providing used buses, trolleybuses and trams, with the following characteristics and quantities:
Trolleybuses:
– dimensions (approximate): length 12 m or 18 m (two-section), width 2.5 m;
– capacity (approximate): 80–100 passengers;
– traction network: 600 V DC;
– on-board network: 24–27 V DC;
– traction motor control system: thyristor or transistor;
- quantity: up to 50 units.
Buses:
– Medium or large-class city buses for passenger transportation;
– Capacity (approximate): 30–120 passengers;
– Euro 5 diesel;
– Low floor;
– Preferably air-conditioned;
– Quantity: 20+ units.
Trams:
– track width: from 1435, from 1450 mm, from 1458 to 1524 mm.
– dimensions (approximate): length 15–16 m;
– carriages: single-section or double-section;
– capacity (approximate): 80–100 passengers;
– traction network: 600 V DC;
– on-board network: 24–27 V DC;
– traction motor control system: thyristor or transistor;
– quantity: up to 40 units.
The specified characteristics and quantities of buses, trolleybuses and trams are approximate. We are ready to consider and discuss any viable options that may be proposed.
